Pakistan Railways is opertaing all the trains daily on only diesel locomotives . 

It is due to lack of funds to this Railways department , that pakistan Railways cannot operate Electric trains . 

Near about 1990,s , the electric trains in Pakistan were operated between khanewal and lahore . The more track was planned but due to corruption and foolish behaviour of Pakistani nation , this plan was cancelled . 

On february , 2011 all the electric track of khanewal and lahore decision was also removed . After that all the trains were / are operating on diesel engine . 

On the other hand , those countries having electrified Tracks also manufactures or import diesel engines .

Why Diesel Engines Are using even today ? 

We know that electric trains are really high speed but in case of leading a long train or frieght trains , the electric locomotives are failed . On the other hand , the diesel locomotives are able to lead a heavy rake . 

Diesel locomotives are also called beast because these locomotives have a amazing acceleration depending upon their Horsepower . More hoursepower of that locomotive , more powerful beast is that . 

Diesel locomotives in Pakistan 

We discussed that in countries with develepod rail system are operating diesel locomotives only for long trains and frieght trains . 

But in Pakistan , all passenger , express and frieght trains are operating with diesel locomotives . This is also Answer of many questions like 

Why Pakistan trains are late ? 

The Answer is that all trains are operating by diesel locomotives , that takes time to attain a specific velocity . 

Pakistan is using only 3000 - 4500 HP locomotives that are really slow in case of acceleration .But it is reality ZCU 30 locomotive was the best locomotive in case of acceleration capacity . On the other hand GEU 40 locomotive is also a beast with highest hoursepower in Pakistan Railways .

But anyways Pakistan Railways trains are late due to acceleration process of locomotive . 

Why Pakistan Railways is not developed 

Pakistan Railways is not developed or developing due to lack of funds . It does not means that government doesn't alkerts any fund to Railways .

The main reason is that the diesel is much expensive in Pakistan . So to compelled the needs of diesel , Pakistan railways does not remains any extra funds
